POWER AMPLIFIER SYSTEMS ENGINEER (Job 09-040001)Scintera is seeking a Power Amplifier Systems Engineer that is highly motivated, self starting, knowledgeable, and responsive with strong technical communication and presentation skills. This person must be able to establish priorities and work effectively with several marketing/sales teams and many customers; manage time with and commitments to those teams and customers; and drive results as a team participant.
Job Description- Lead the design and debug of complete, linearized power amplifier systems
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring high-level technical support and professionalism; work closely with sales, business units, and customers, and with RF systems application engineers
- Contribute to the specification of products and ensure they meet customer requirements
- Collaborate with analog team in silicon bring-up in the laboratory
- Collaborate with engineering teams to validate new firmware releases
- Communicate evaluation results and measurement data to customers and design team
- Collaborate to develop datasheets, hardware design guides, release notes, and application notes for scalable customer support
- BSEE degree; MSEE preferred
- Extensive experience with designing linearized power amplifiers
- Excellent communication and technical presentation skills – both written and oral
- Excellent knowledge of analog/digital signal processing
- Knowledge of MATLAB, SIMULINK, and C/++ is a plus
- Strong experience in developing, testing, and debugging complete RF system prototypes
- Familiarity with analog and RF test equipment including RF signal sources, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, VSA, etc.
- Strong technical analysis, interpretation and decision-making skills
- Familiarity with Orcad and PADS – ability to generate board schematics and layouts
- Familiarity with analog/RF IC design - ability to generate specifications for analog/digital designers
- Willingness to travel, up to 25% of the time

CAD MANAGER (09-070001)Job Description
- Define, implement, and maintain tools and methodology to support the development of RF/Mixed Signal IC designs
- Provide hands on technical support and training to the chip design team in all areas related to design flow, methodology, and EDA/CAD setup/customization
- Interface with tool vendors, IP providers, Foundry, and PDK suppliers
- Set up projects and provide version-control management
- Implement and maintain design flow
- Generate custom scripts and pCells for design/layout automation
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree plus 5 years experience in EDA/CAD; or, Master's Degree plus 3 years experience in EDA/CAD
- Excellent knowledge of Cadence tools (Composer, ADE, Virtuoso, Assura, etc)
- Excellent knowledge of SKILL, PERL/Python, and TCL and Shell scripting
- Must be familiar with LINUX or UNIX environment
- Strong hands-on experience in Analog DRC, LVS, and PRE runset development, as well as verification for top-level mixed signal designs
- Hands-on experience in pCell development
- Proven ability to quickly master new tools, programming languages
- Proven ability to train others, one-on-one; or, when needed, provide rapid training to designers on new tools and features
- Familiarity with version control management tools such as DesignSync
- Experience in analog circuit design and/or layout as well as analog simulation (Spectre models, OCEAN scripting) are desired

PRINCIPAL RF IC / ANALOG MIXED-SIGNAL DESIGN ENGINEER (09-080002)Job Description
- Lead architecture and design of RF/analog mixed signal designs in standard CMOS.
- Hands-on circuit design, layout, and verification of CMOS circuit blocks such as mixers, LNAs, amplifiers, PLLs, ADC/DACs, filters, and dedicated analog processing circuits.
- Verify circuits and perform simulations using SpectreRF, AMS Designer and RFDE/Golden Gate within the Cadence IC design suite.
- Perform layout and layout verification, including parasitic extraction using Virtuoso and Assura based tools.
- Evaluate, measure, and debug silicon in the laboratory.
- Communicate simulation results and measurement data to management and design team
- Minimum of MSEE degree plus 12 years of experience in RF IC design; or, PhD plus 9 years of experience in RF IC design.
- Proven track record of designing CMOS RF/Analog circuits that have been manufactured in high volume production and that are stable over process, voltage and temperature corners.
- Strong understanding of system-on-a-chip isolation techniques.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and mentoring designers in wireless transceivers building blocks such as mixers, low noise amplifiers, oscillators, programmable baseband filters, data converters, biasing circuits, bandgap references, regulators, op-amps, and PLL blocks.
- Solid knowledge of analog signal processing and systems theory.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cadence based IC layout, parasitic extraction, resimulation and verification of RF circuits.
- Experience with design for test approaches and development of characterization and production test plans.
- Strong hands-on experience in the lab with silicon evaluation, debugging, characterization, and bring up.
- Knowledge of CMOS technology (device physics, manufacturing process, DFM, ESD).
- Strong leadership skills
- Effective product-development schedule-management skills.
- Good communication and technical reporting skills, both written and oral.
